I have an announcement to make... La Chica and I have parted ways. She just wasn't the right poncho for me. There are two reasons for this decision- A) I'm a perfectionist. I made a few mistakes that stood out (to me) like a sore thumb and couldn't see past them. B) I'm a very symetrical person. Because she is knitted in one long rectangle, the back does not match the front when it is being worn. I want to make something that I will love and enjoy wearing, but I just wasn't feeling it with La Chica. Anyway, I had finished her on Thursday afternoon and decided to frog her while at Stitch~n~Bitch that night. Since this was my first time frogging a completed project, Jackie supervised and assisted as I turned my first poncho into two large balls of yarn. The rest of my time was spent drinking coffee (of course) , reading US Weekly magazine (Is Britney Spears pregnant?) and attaching the i-cord to the carmel macchiato booga bag! I LOVE it, Lisa!!! In fact, I love it soooo much that I am going to make one after I finish my third attempt at a poncho. Thanks to Rosie, I found another pattern for a poncho that I fell in love with- I am hoping to start it some time this week.

I have that Neil Sedaka tune in my head but with a different verse "Ripping out is hard to dooooo" :)

La Chica was not meant to be. Have you seen the preview of the Summer Interwave Knits mag? Lots of fun patterns for shrugs and shawls. http://iwpshopinfo.interweave.com/Knits/2005newsletters/knitssummer2005projects.htm

Let's try that again:
